About Us

Welcome to Sherbrooke Heights Animal Hospital! Your local veterinarian in Peterborough! We’re pleased to provide a wide variety of veterinary services for our clients in Peterborough and surrounding areas!

What makes Sherbrooke Heights Animal Hospital unique?

We are so happy you asked!

We are a low stress clinic! At Sherbrooke Heights Animal Hospital we believe that your pet’s experience at our hospital should be a positive one. We are committed to doing whatever it takes to making you and your pet feel as comfortable and calm as possible during your visit here! Low stress handling, distraction techniques, minimal restraint exams, Feliway and Adaptil diffusers are a few of the methods we use routinely. We also offer clients the option to be present while their pet is being sedated for surgical procedures and waking up from surgical procedures. Our team is happy to tailor an exam to suit the needs of your pet, whatever they might be. Most of our patients can’t wait to come through the door to see us again.

We make our patients feel at home! At Sherbrooke Heights Animal Hospital we practice a high level of nursing care to ensure that our patients are as comfortable as possible during their stay here. Patients are provided with warm towels and heating blankets after surgery, anti nausea medication if needed and also medication for anxiety if they are an anxious pet. Animals that are hospitalized are taken outside for walks, given food and lots of love and attention!

We only perform a few procedures each day so that we can spend extra time reassuring an anxious patient, closely monitoring patients in recovery and providing excellent nursing care and TLC!

We take pain seriously! Every patient undergoing a surgical procedure receives a local block (freezing) at the incision site. Pain management protocols are developed for each pet. Pre op and post op pain medication is given as well as pain control during the procedure itself. All surgery patients also go home with pain medication to ensure that their recovery is as comfortable and pain free as possible.

We monitor every procedure! Every surgical procedure performed at Sherbrooke Heights Animal Hospital is monitored throughout by a Registered Veterinary Technician as well as monitoring equipment which tracks blood pressure, heart rate, respirations, temperature and oxygen saturation. Monitoring drastically reduces the risk of surgical complications as trends can be monitored and changes noted early, before they become a problem.

We love our patients and are committed to helping your pet live a happier, healthier, longer life!
